Hello and thank you for checking out Jbglassdesigns.com, the various works of glass art by Jonathan Baker. I currently reside in the city of Lynchburg, VA, a beautiful hill filled city a skip and a jump from the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I have finally found a constructive way to play with fire and have been blowing glass and lampworking since 2003. Other than an intro class I took in Durham, NC I am mostly a self-taught lampworker. Thanks to books, videos, and the vast resources on the internet I have been able to turn my hobby into my business. I mainly focus on jewelry, especially pendants, and specialize on various floral designs although I enjoy trying new and abstract applications.

If asked, “Where do I get my inspirations?” I would have to say from every day encounters with outdoor surroundings.  I like to mimic places and things I have seen letting the colors and effects of the glass create somewhat surreal interpretations.  I work mainly with borosilicate glass yet do have some hot shop soft glass paperweights in my collection.
